A Charming Mystery by Kelly Swan Taylor

4.0

It is Valentine’s time in Greeneville and the sleuthy teenage girls of the TSLR Detective Agency are as busy as ever : between a secret admirer and a mysterious bracelet they have numerous new mysteries to unravel .

Romance and sleuthy moments alternate in the story. As pleasant as the previous books of the series, this new opus of the Wright Detective introduces the reader to an older and more mature Tessa, almost ready for high school. I really enjoyed the intergenerational aspect of this novel : part of it takes place in a senior center where the girls have very interesting interactions with the community members. Kelly Swan Taylor also emphasizes important themes linked to mental health as Tessa has very hard time overcoming her fears regarding her ankle injury. As always, it is a fun read, and a true page turner !
