A Woman Is No Man by Etaf Rum
4.0
A multigenerational story about generational trauma, community silence, and feminism. At no point was I bored; this story and these complicated lives gripped me the entire way. The language was a bit stilted, but I read this physically in tandem with the audiobook and it was a wonderful immersive experience. This is a very sad story too, and while the author bravely spoke up about what happens in Arab communities, it was so sad, it made me cry at some parts. Overall very, very good and intense.
