This is such a comfort read and I totally see why it's a classic. I really enjoyed the characters and how their daily life was written about. Diana Wynne Jones' characters and the nuances she builds into them are my favorite aspects of the book. While not at the forefront, I also loved the relationship amongst the three sisters. I've never seen the movie, but it's on my list to see now (I know it's quite different than the book).
