Avalon by Nell Zink
3.0
Some pages are great, the rest feel like being trapped in the corner of a house party with some of the most insufferable intellectuals there.
I DO think there's some interesting stuff about class in here though, particularly in Bran's infatuation with Peter and the way she puts him on a pedestal, despite often not understanding him. There's a sense of randomness that I like too, but overall this book just fell a bit flat for me. Whenever it seemed to be getting somewhat pacier or more plot-driven, the momentum stopped.
