A New Name: Septology VI-VII by Jon Fosse
5.0
I have been waiting for this book to be released in great anticipation. Now I have read it I just don’t know how to put into words how much this book, indeed the whole trilogy has affected me. It is strange, hypnotic, puzzling but also so very real. The minute I opened the first page of A New Name I felt the power in the writing and was completely in the world. It was a sad place to be but also deeply comforting. I am at a loss to describe it except to say I found this to be a very profound reading experience. These three books together are in my top most treasured books.
Fosse is one amazing writer.
I would like to be more explicit in my description of the book, but it would spoil the book for anyone still to come to it. It is best just admired and not discussed except internally.
I would add that the book can not be appreciated without reading the first two books in the series.
