The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
5.0
"Your voice. Your weapon."
This is one of the most stunning debut novels I have ever read. From the moment you meant Starr Carter she is unapologetically flawed and perfect. She is terrified but brave; loving but angry and stuck between two cultures and groups that both help to define her.
Ms Thomas' narrative is engaging from the first page and emotional until the end. This book is timely, accessibly and a must read for students in today's world and I cannot recommend it enough.
