I read this book with my gifted literature students. This was a difficult book for them but was so for discussions. We learned a lot about foriegn policy and historical events that I knew little about. The story line was very relatable to my students and we made connections to current events with North Korea. At first we thought the format (embedding non-fiction artifacts and primary sources) was distracting, but we came to love putting the pieces together. I was very impressed with this book! I can't wait for their presentations next week.
