When Darkness Loves Us (Paperbacks from Hell) by Elizabeth Engstrom

5.0

Brilliant, brutal horror that leads us into seriously demanding psychological and theological terrain, living up to the promise of its evocative title.
The finest thing I've read by a living horror writer who isn't Ramsey Campbell or Thomas Ligotti.

So much gratitude is due to Valancourt and Grady Hendrix for rescuing this masterpiece from obscurity. I can't wait to read Black Ambrosia.
