Exactly what I needed. A breezy, engaging, fun murder mystery. Plus it's got a dog in it.

Books about authors seem like they would often end up over indulgent and cliche, but I guess the "write what you know" adage has some truth to it, because they often end up being a pretty good time. (Same with films about film making, now that I think about it.)
