Atlas of the Heart: Mapping Meaningful Connection and the Language of Human Experience by Brené Brown

4.0

Atlas of the Heart is essentially an accessible encyclopedia of emotions and their meanings, with emphasis on distinguishing emotion words that the average person often mixes up (e.g. "envy" and "jealousy"). As someone who's read a couple of Brown's previous books, listened to her podcast occasionally, and who has 20 years of therapy under my belt, I found most of the content to be pretty basic. I took note of a couple of new thoughts and questions but overall I think this book would mainly be useful for someone who has never been to therapy and/or who generally struggles to express how they feel.
