This was such a highly anticipated book for me and it really did live up to the expectation!  This book leaves you with a lump in your throat when you finish it, and I think the author did an exceptional job at conveying such nostalgia with this book.

Mother Mother flicks between past and present, following the life of Mary, who became pregnant when she lost her virginity at 17.  I become invested in the story, and loved learning more about Mary and her son TJ.

The book spans 4 decades and covers a range of topics from motherhood, alcoholism and grief.  All these topics are covered in such a sensitive yet emotional way, without being too overly dramatic.  It is such a simple story but it captures the emotions of the characters perfectly, making it a powerful read.

This was a beautifully written book, and I look forward to more releases from this author.  I give this book five out of five stars.
