It's been a while since I read a Giant Days book, and I'd forgotten just how enjoyable these little slice of life comics are. There's something so amusing about Esther, Daisy, and Susan's college adventures. I'd forgotten that we were still in their first year. Even though I'm a few years removed from my college days, I can still relate to everything these girls were going through, at least to some degree, since I never actually had any college roommates or a dorm.
There were two parts of this story that I loved the most. When the girls went to Ikea, and Esther fell in love with the store and everything about it, including the finger puppets and meatballs; and when the girls went to a music festival over the summer. It was cool to see them outside of a school year setting, just enjoying their time off and being young adults who make questionable decisions. Daisy really seemed to come into her own at times, which I loved.
I also adored everything Esther wore. I'd like her wardrobe for myself. I definitely couldn't relate to her personality though. Susan, on the other hand, with her dry, sarcastic humor? She is everything.
