The Mysterious Affair at Styles by Agatha Christie
3.0
I was right about the killer, so that’s fun.
What’s not fun is some of the ways Christie describes characters in a very slanderous light, and it’s made me reconsider if I want to read more of her works. Having a hard time separating art from artist when writer’s leak their opinions into their characters (which is totally normal but not always ok.)
But alas, I have this three stars because:
1. I had a hunch about who the killer was from the first few chapters and while being right is nice it also made the story less exciting on the whole,
and
2. It’s an easy-going read and a cozy mystery and for that I cannot fault it.
