I hate giving any memoir a 1 star. Someone brave enough to put their history to paper will always be acknowledged for doing so. But this was a difficult read. It felt all over the place. It had no real thread or timeline. I felt often confused by the pace. I'm not trying to take away from their history or their story, and know that I've certainly not written my own.. but goodness that could have used some more polishing.
