Der letzte Joker by Agatha Christie

5.0

This was fantastic. There is so much going on in this one: family troubles, the company, revenge threats and everyone's personal little problems - and it's all so very well thought through and there are little clues everywhere.
Again, the murderer was someone I had ruled out entirely, even though it made so much sense. At one point, I even literally dropped my book out of surprise by a reveal :D
I loved our detective, Neele, and even though Miss Marple often rarely features in her own book, she was used really well in this one. She was mostly like the little shoulder angel of Neele, telling him "but have you considered this?" while he does most of the leg work.
While the book lacked the really charming, lovable characters my other favourites from Christie feature, the family and some servants were really interesting in their own way. Except maybe two of them, they're all not very likable, but they're still really fun to read about. Especially the two brothers and their dynamic intrigued me.
One of my favourite Christie's so far.
