I mostly enjoyed this but I thought Ari's behavior through most of the book pretty unlikeable, and he doesn't ever really redeem himself. So, it's a "romance" but it's a little hard to see what Hector sees in Ari other than his tousled hair and his lovely family. And, long term it is hard to see them as a happy couple. That said, I loved the artwork.
