What the Dog Saw: And Other Adventures by Malcolm Gladwell

4.0

9/10

What The Dog Saw is a compilation of Malcolm Gladwell's favourite articles that he wrote for The New Yorker.

As a major Malcolm Gladwell fan, I loved this book. Given that most articles were written in the early 2000s, they kind of felt like mini history lessons (and I love a good history lesson).

Gladwell's writing style will forever intrigue me; he's unpredictable, unique, engaging, and writes with such simplicity and mystery. Reading Gladwell's work feels like I'm walking with my eyes closed while holding his hand - I might not know where I'm going but I trust that he'll take me there.

Naturally, some articles were more interesting than others, but nonetheless I enjoyed them.

The only reason why I didn't give this a 10/10 is because the book is just a compilation of what you can read online (although I think you have to subscribe to the new yorker now).

I got it second hand so I only paid $8 as opposed to $35 (original price)

My favourite articles (not in order):
1. Blowing Up
2. Open Secrets
3. Connecting the Dots
4. The Art of Failure
5. Why Some People Choke & Others Panic
6. Late Bloomers (absolute favourite)
7. The Talent Myth
