Genta & Nandea by Eko Ivano Winata (Katakokoh)
4.0
This book arrived today at my doorstep. Pre-ordered all the way from Indonesia, I just want a complete collection of Katakokoh's book, can't help it.
Tbh, I was wayyyyyyyy more excited over the synopsis rather than the actual story. I am less sympathetic over characters that are......how to put this nicely, self-absorbed but also extremely insecure? Nandea has very few redeeming features and I felt like her love for Genta is almost too quick.
In short, she annoys me.
However, the 10% before the book actually ends redeemed it all. Since the author didn't force them together instantly make it more palatable. I also think I was being too harsh, like Genta, putting my own standard on a character who had just started out in the world. I too have not really seen the world, only a tiny, pea size part of it, and have numerous flaws so who am i to judge.
How many part of this book is fiction and how much is the writer's own feelings and experience? It's hard to review this because it felt personal at times. Kudos all the same. I enjoyed reading it and loveeeeeeee the cover.
