Embers in the Snow by Anna Carven

Did not finish book. Stopped at 41%.
I was given an ALC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. It is narrated by Lucy Rivers and Shane East, and although I was enjoying their performances, the actual story itself bored me, and I just can't.

The potential was there, and the synopsis really had my interest. Unfortunately the story itself didn't live up to what I hoped it would, I DNF'D at 41% because other than Finley our FMC arriving at her arranged hubby's castle and his undead status being common knowledge NOTHING had happened! I felt abruptly dropped into this world and although information was given it lacked the depth and details to make me care, it was a lot of telling not showing, the inner monologues were tedious and repetitive and the insta lust/love just made me roll my eyes. There was no build-up to the "connection" between Finley and Corvan, so their interactions and want for the other just felt so forced and fake to me. The dual POV served no purpose as the previous chapter was just being repeated by the other character. This read like a bad vampire fan-fic... and I don't mean to insult fan-fic as a whole with that comment because there are some amazing ones out there, but this... just no, and Lucy & and Shane, who I adore as narrators, couldn't save this for me.
