I narrow my eyes. “What exactly do you want?”
“You…”
Everyone, let me just start off this review by simply just saying wow!
I'll be completely honest when I say that the thing that drew me to reading [b:Cast in Firelight|51630215|Cast in Firelight (Wickery, #1)|Dana Swift|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1582745459l/51630215._SY75_.jpg|73131066] was the beautiful cover. Then, after I read a couple of chapters I realized that the book is much more than just beautiful. It's brilliant!
I actually didn't expect to be so blown away by it. The plot and the world building were the things that I enjoyed the most. The magic system is very unique and it was so incredibly entertaining to learn about it throughout the book.
When it comes to romance it wasn't lacking either. The relationship between the two main characters was so wholesome and adorable I thought I was gonna melt away. It goes from rivals to friends to lovers in such a natural way which really surprised me. Sometimes the development of romance in books can be strained and feel really unnatural but I felt like it was done so well here. Of course there was also the hidden identity trope that just increased the tension even more.
Overall, if you're looking for a fast paced YA read that features a fearless female character and an outstanding fantasy world I would recommend you pick up this book immediately!!
