Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt
5.0
I've been circling this book for ages, watching it hit dozens of lists, constantly resetting the hold in my Libby app everytime it came in and I hadn't found time to read it. Then, suddenly, right after finishing [a:Sabrina Imbler|19774257|Sabrina Imbler|https://s.gr-assets.com/assets/nophoto/user/u_50x66-632230dc9882b4352d753eedf9396530.png]'s autobiographical [b:How Far the Light Reaches: A Life in Ten Sea Creatures|72017823|How Far the Light Reaches A Life in Ten Sea Creatures|Sabrina Imbler|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1676423363l/72017823._SX50_.jpg|95822678], it seemed the perfect time to slide right into this one.
I ended up being 100% right and devoured this book obsessively from the first words. I fell so deeply in love with Marcellus, Tova, and Cameron, all for completely different reasons. I found myself snickering every time we got a chapter titled "Day [#] of my Captivity." I have such a defined image of this little town and all that went on in it.
So much is cleverly folded in, charming you every step, never beating you over the head with the outcomes or puzzle pieces as they add up.
