Highly Suspicious and Unfairly Cute by Talia Hibbert

3/3.5
This book had some good moments. I liked the conversation/debate about cliques in school; it wasn’t just surface level “nerd/jock”. I wish we could have gotten more back story to how their friendship initially fell apart; it felt like it was just narrowed down to “I got new friends, so what?”. I understood both sides because the main character felt abandoned and in my opinion tried too much to be controlling and that you weren’t allowed to have any other friends other than her. And Brad felt like she was being to harsh and stubborn. Almost as if she was guilt tripping him for growing up and meeting other people and having other interests. I enjoyed the character development of the protagonist and she finally confronts her true feeling regarding Brad and her father. Also, I wish we could’ve gotten more of a resolution between Celine and her dad. Everything was building up nicely to that final moment—and then nothing.
“Just let me go back in time and I won’t jump again. I won’t do it again.”
