I’m so annoyed because I wanted to love this book but I finished it and the only thought I have is oh okay it’s over. This book started off strong but ended with a story to me that was filled with nothingness. The worst part about this book is how boring it is. I was 200 pages into this book and felt like nothing was going on. It was a struggle to get myself to continue reading but I wanted it to be over. Our main character had no personality other than I was born to kill the big bad villain that’s it. The love story in this book is a joke since they barely spend time with each other and their dialogue is just about how they’re going to defeat the knight. This also didn’t even seem like a Snow White retelling like I think we’re truly grasping at straws with that. The author throws in a poison apple and the magical mirror but I forgot this was a Snow White retelling until the ending where the author kinda tells us it is verbatim. This was a mess and I’m confused how this is the same author that wrote Cinderella is Dead. I was begging for more fairytale retellings but maybe we should get back to the drawing board if this is what we’re going to get.
