If you enjoyed the first two installments in this series, you might find this a bit slow. I might have taken some time to show love to Illuminae (purely due to the format) but Gemina was a breeze. So, the slow pace at the beginning might you off but do go through with it. I had a reading slump due to this book lmao (took a month and more to finish). But the last 200 pages, damn, action, emotions, AIDAN, oof! Stressing over the fate of characters, crying for their fate yet hoping everything would fix itself at the end. AIDAN was more human than it ever was, feeling pain, love, sorrow, it was a treat to read. How one could get so attached to a monstrous AI is beyond me but I did.
While the first book was mainly about Kady-Ezra and second being about Hanna-Nik, this book brings a whole lot of new characters, yet manages to make you feel bad about their state (Kerenza civilians and BeiTech troops alike). The series was great, but Illuminae still tops the list.
