A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J. Maas

3.0

It took me 5 months to read this book because I hate Nesta viscerally. When I found out that the last book was about her, I almost cried, and for a while I thought I was not going to finish it but maybe read a summary somewhere and call it done.
I pushed through and here we are. 100% done.
I still hate Nesta.

There is nothing she can do the would redeem her in my eyes. You cannot undo years of mistreatment, selfishness and discrimination with 2 acts of unselfishness. She was vile, so vile that I consider her one of the villains of the story. She didn’t deserve all the good things she got.
She definitely didn’t deserve Cassian.

Regarding the book, I’m getting tired of SJM cookie cut stories. Predictable, unimaginative, boring. That ending made me roll my eyes. I don’t know, maybe I’m just salty that Nesta got away with everything so easy.
Yes, easy. Nothing she did in this book can be called a sacrifice.
Abstinence? Good for the body, did her good. Not a sacrifice.
Exercise? Good for the body as well, made her strong and powerful.
Training? Good for the body, gave her friends.
The blood rite? Not a sacrifice, even though it was against her will. She had trained for it.
Saving Fayre? Not a freaking sacrifice if what she gave up was something she didn’t want and resented from the first day.

Honestly, she can go ahead and cease to exist. I bet we can find someone for Cassian and he won’t even miss her.
