Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck

I’ve been meaning to read this book for a long time. I already knew the story and the entire plot but I think, even if I know the plot, it’s not the same as reading it.

I picked this book up at savers for only 3 dollars. Whenever I see something even slightly interesting at savers I pick it up, and as I said earlier, this is one I’ve been meaning to read for a while. I’m glad I did.

Everyone I’ve talked to says it sucks or it’s disturbing. I think the reason people my age hate it so much is because they’re forced to read it in school, that takes away the fun of actually reading a book.

The reason people say it’s disturbing is because it is. I’m writing this right after I finished reading it and it’s hard to get my thoughts together. I literally knew what was going to happen but I still can’t even process what happened.

I think it’s a book everyone should read, preferably by choice. I know if I was forced to read this in school I wouldn’t have thought it was a good book, but since I read this of my own free will, I would say you should check this out.
