Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli
5.0
I'm so glad Becky went back to Creekwood High. I loved Simon and really disliked Upside, so it's great to love Leah. It took some time for me to get into, but I appreciated Leah's voice...most of the time. She had her moments of being way too cynical and stubborn, but it was good to also see her unapologetic about her body size and there was no weight loss plot. I'll be interested to see if this book is also turned into a movie but they didn't cast Leah very well in Love, Simon based on the descriptions in this book. Nice story focused on friendship, crushes, and romance. Prom clichés and college clichés abound. It was sweet.
