Hi, Anxiety: Life With a Bad Case of Nerves by Kat Kinsman
5.0
I didn't come to this book knowing who Kat Kinsman is.
I was a little caught off guard by her stint as a dominatrix in the middle of this book. For a chapter or two I thought this was a surprise BDSM book and I was preparing to leave a very confused review. I even stopped to look at the cover again. Then looked up a picture of the author, and I thought, oh yeah, that makes sense.
I have the audiobook and she has a really nice speaking voice. So nice, in fact, that if this book had flaws, I didn't notice. She could probably make anything sound amazing. (Do you think we could get her to read My Immortal?)
Anyway, I found many of her stories relatable (hello, dyi haircut), and for the ones I didn't, I know someone who would. She's basically every anxious friend I've ever had all rolled into one person. I'm really glad I picked this up because her thought process has given me some insight into some eccentricities among my friends and family that have always baffled me.
I hope she writes more books.
