Frances Hardinge has yet to disappoint me and this is the third book of hers that I've read. I love her style and how devoted she is to her world building and characterization.
Twilight Robbery is even more involving than Flytrap was and the characters really shine throughout the story now that they were well setup. Its impressive how Hardinge tells the majority of the story from the perspective of a 12/13 year old, stays true to Mosca's personality, and manages to make the plot as complicated and nuanced as she does.
I love how political the story is without being too on the nose or clumsy whole also make the heart of the chosen philophies clear. I love how Hardinge drew out the mindset and emotionality of the characters so that the reader can truly understand the problems that made the city the way it was. And it does all this while being entertaining, funny, and easy to read.
I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys complex plots, political intrigue, and adventure. It's a story for all ages but a wonderful start to educate children on the heart of politics.
