Emotional. Personal. Beautiful. Helen shared some extremely tough experiences with us through Anna. Although many people may see this as Quan's story, he's very much a supporting character to Anna. To me, this book was largely about Anna overcoming hardships and self-discovery, with romance, and Quan's personal growth, as secondary plot points.
I throughly enjoyed this book, but I also understood that this story is different from the others. If you're looking for a sweet and easy contemporary romance, this isn't it. But please don't pass it up because of that, otherwise you'd be missing out on an incredible story.
