Goddess of Light by P.C. Cast

Pamela last long-term relationship was an abusive one. Ever since, she has thrown herself into growing her interior decorating business. She is finally given a chance for a semi-vacation when she travels to Las Vegas for a new client, a quirky but supremely rich author. As Pamela is researching for her new job, she invokes an ancient magic wishing that she could find romance. Meanwhile, (back at the ranch), the ancient Greek gods are given the opportunity to spend time in the mortal world during the weekends. Apollo and his sister Artemis are tied to Pamela through the ancient magic spell. Apollo finds that he has a depth of feelings for Pamela that he has never had for any other woman before. However, he must keep his identity secret. Will Pamela be able to find a way to trust and love Apollo, especially when he is hiding such a big secret?

I enjoyed the story. It was steamy, magical, and compelling. Pamela is a pain in the butt though. Her constant stomping around and demand to be independent, while also being ineffectual is annoying, I understand that it is a realistic development of character. The quirky author came across as super creepy and not endearing, but I desperately wanted to like the guy. Even though Apollo is a pompous butt head, he is perfectly matched with Pamela.
