Carla Hall's Soul Food: Everyday and Celebration by Carla Hall, Genevieve Ko

4.0

3.5 stars. I am a sucker for cookbooks with southern recipes, and recipes for lots of side dishes/vegetables. This one hits those marks. Carla actually hired someone else to write the book, which is fine. She developed the recipes. I like picking up different techniques. For example, in the Breads section there are five different recipes for biscuits or rolls using five distinct techniques. It made me wish I had someone to teach cooking to, and just bake through the chapter. Nice pictures of the food, too, which one would expect from a modern cookbook.
