Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
4.0
A classic-so-its-worth-it kind of bore. The elusive and dreamy words are a chef kiss, but it wouldn't pass the Hemingway editor app—that silly writing app named after Ernest Hemingway bcos his writing style was direct and straightforward. My point being; this book's readability requires a tedious labor.
Frankenstein's a gothic thriller (? on the thriller part) so I like it, but it's frustratingly long!&#? Like there were so many detailed side stories that didn't add up to the plot as a whole. There were obvious plot holes, too. The only reason I gave it a solid 4-star was because of its intricate depiction of humans—the raw emotions and basic necessities that make us all vulnerable beings. I mean, a monster made me cry—how's that for a change?
To sum it up, I'm still glad that I read it. It's now my mission to compare it with all the Frankenstein movies.
