This is the first of five books I had my husband recommend for my August TBR!

What a fun adventure with a unique magic system and world! While some dated and inaccurate descriptions are present in the book, I found the pure escapism and excitement thoroughly entertaining throughout.

I didn’t connect in a significant way to the characters, but I still found myself caring about what might happen to them nonetheless. If you are looking for an immersive fantasy adventure with a sense of humor and wit, I think you will really enjoy this book!
