"You are too generous to trifle with me. If your feelings are still what they were last April, tell me so at once. My affections and wishes are unchanged; but one word from you will silence me in this subject for ever."
I reread this book, one of my all time favourites, almost every year and I never tire of it! 🥰
This year's rereading made obvious the lightness and humour of Jane Austen's writing style, especially when following Elizabeth's pov. It makes the more dramatic scenes even more intense. Passages from Mr Darcy's pov were also written with a slight change of tone, very discreet, which only makes the experience more engaging.
I am now curious to read and/or re-read the other books written by Jane Austen to look for such differences in tones and dynamics!
