Betrayal in Death by J.D. Robb

4.0

What can I say that I haven't said before when it comes to book 12 in a series? Nothing really haha.

If you haven't had a chance to read any of my previous 11 reviews on this series, we follow Dallas. She's a homicide detective in 2058 New York City who carries a strong sense of justice and a lot of street smarts. Each book in this series follows her as she takes on a new twisted murderer. Whilst you would miss some things if you jumped in at book 12, you'd do okay, as each book is a semi standalone in its own right.

The 'In Death' series continues to be a haven for me to climb out of the pit which is not knowing what to read. Our M.C., Dallas, continues to be a fun character to read about and I continue to be sucked into her crimes. This book series to me, is what I imagine NCIS is to others.

Please be aware that this book (and series) has a TONNE of triggers so please check before you go into it. The main ones I picked up on are rape, trauma, PTSD, gore, violence, murder, and substance abuse.
