The Hound of the Baskervilles by Arthur Conan Doyle

5.0

I had originally read an abridged version meant for children, back in the fourth grade. My first exposure to Sherlock Holmes and Doyle's writing. I distinctly remember loving it. Thankfully, when I reread it now (Or heard, rather - as a part of Stephen Fry's Definitive Collection), I had forgotten the specifics and the important twists and turns in the tale.
The unabridged version is beautiful. It retains the classic flavour of suspense and mystery, and throws in some elements of horror for good measure. A must read, and definitely deserving of its place among the classics in the literary hall of fame.
