This book is so not for me. It has that Elmore Leonard style short, abrupt sentences with visceral disjointed descriptions. It's definitely vivid, and I can see why some people would like it, but it's gruff and rough and gross and harsh, in addition to the brusque writing style. The characters are deeply unlikeable, as well. I gave up about 30% in.
