The Dead Romantics by Ashley Poston

slow-paced

4.0

Very cute, if a bit slow. When it clicked for me what was going on I felt very smart. I don't know if I deserved to, but I did. 😅

Loved both main characters, loved Florence's family and the small town setting. I really enjoyed following her journey through bitter and jaded and unable to write her romance novel to the beginnings of believing in love again and working through her problems.

I wish the pacing had been a but faster. And the varying chapter lengths bothered me - I like chapters to all be approximately the same length. But that's obviously so nit-picky.

Content: language, death of a parent, grief, brief and vague open door scene
