A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas
3.0
This is the first time in awhile that I have the urge to write a long review about a book because this series is so incredibly frustrating but I also can’t stop reading it—but I won’t.
The writing is bad to the point that it takes me out of the story sometimes. The repeated phrases, the inconsistent characterizations, and the constant beating over the head reminding us that Rhysand and Feyre are SUPER POWERFUL, GUYS; it drives me nuts. And don’t get me started on the curveballs thrown into the ending: by the way, we got married off screen and made a second bond just in case we have to destroy the first one here because we’re definitely going to lose and Feyre just forgets about all of it while monologuing internally about how she has to save everyone because even if we lose we don’t LOSE.
Can’t wait for more Nesta and Lucien because at this point them, Mor, and Amren are the only characters I really care about. Maybe Cassian.
I’m so mad about this book.
I’m so mad I’m going to buy the sequel.
UGH.
