This book was a fun ride. It’s an interesting take on dragons. Pretty similar to her Firelight series, but in a fully fantasy world. I also felt these were a little more flushed that the YA series. This was also a definite improvement on writing than that series.
The pacing was a little off though. I felt like the two MCs didn’t interact or engage enough to really care about their relationship. There was a lot of build up to before the marriage and then after just sprinted with not a lot happening until explosive things happened. The foreshadowing on some of the twists was pretty obvious and I wasn’t surprised by any of it.
This didn’t really feel like a complete book to me almost more of like a first half of a book. I’ll definitely read on in the series, but I would almost recommend to wait until the whole series is out, or at least the next one. Like I said, it doesn’t feel like a finished book, but like the first half of one.
