I gave this 2 stars not because it was a bad story but I felt it was very juvenile when it is marketed as young adult. The world building was lacking and the characters were very 2 dimensional. Alex the main charterer also read more like a 12 year old girl not the 16 year old that she was. I feel like maybe I would have really enjoyed this as a 12-14 year old but at 23 (and someone who loves and reads YA and middle grade) it was to young for me and so for this reason I wouldn't recommend it except for children under 15.
