Andrew Joseph White, you did it again.
This gave such a beautiful and painful depiction of being queer in rural America, and the violence and love that exists in everyday people. We also get an incredible dive into socialist America and the history of the red necks, without it feeling forced or out of place.
It felt like a broken bone, as the title would suggest: painful and, when healed, still leaving you feeling a little off.
I loved it, and as with all of AJW’s books, I needed it.
