29 Days To Eternity by Michael E. Coones
5.0
This book was inspirational, humourous, and bittersweet. It gave us a look into the protagonist's life and moments he chose to go back in time to change so he could become closer to his family. I enjoyed the references to movies, songs, and moments in history--they made the story funny and heartwarming.
The secondary character who helped the protagonist through his spiritual journey was a Native American who did the work of God on Earth and became involved in civil rights movements and helping people of various backgrounds.
The only thing I didn't like about this book (speaking as an agnostic reading a Christian-oriented book) was the atheist character who seemed overly dramatized; however, atheist/agnostic characters in other books by this author (I've read 3 others) are portrayed favourably, so I'm content that it was just a one-off for that particular character. I enjoyed this book. It was a very smooth and entertaining read that I had trouble putting down!
