This, this is why I can't trust Goodreads reviews. This books is apparently extremely popular but I couldn't even finish it. The premise is ludicrous, the characters are poorly written and unbelievable, their relationship makes no sense and is about as steamy as a wet blanket (though the wet blanket can probably get steamier when you put it on fire. Which I wanted to do to this book.). Even the whole "enemies to lovers" doesn't make sense because the characters aren't exactly enemies, just strangers forced into an incredibly cringy situation.
The whole thing reads like a fanfiction, not a book. I would go as far as actively suggesting not reading this in order to not ruin your day - if you want steamy fantasy romance, read Ilona Andrews instead.
