Heart of Stone by Johannes T. Evans

Such an adorable and heartwarming story with low stakes and a slow, longing feeling.
While I found myself a bit apprehensive about it at first, I really found myself seen by the neurodivergent representation in both the two main characters. Besides that, their dynamic was so sweet and that made the slow pacing of the story so worth it. I live for the more "normal" scenes between characters, where they get to know each other as people.
The subtle hints of magic and a world that has, it seems, much more to offer, makes me interested to read other works in this universe, if the author ever decides to write any.
