my heart broke too many times while reading this. it feels bruised and yet fulfilled because this was an excellent sequel and conclusion to a masterful duology. shelley parker chan is such a talented writer. i felt sympathy for all the characters in this series despite their selfish wants and their terrible insistence to follow their fates even if the end may not be worth it.
