Very interesting read. It flirted with the fine line between fantasy and historical fiction, which I love! I wasn’t sure how much I liked Effy at first but I adored her and her determination at the end.
It’s a fantastic little mystery. It’s fairly easy to figure out about 3/4ths in but it’s still a fantastic reveal. I yelled and cried and cheered for them.
I took one star away only because the romance was a little dry- it wasn’t awful, but it could have been so much more full of heat and it just wasn’t. Still a great, dark and moody story I would recommend.
