I was so excited for this book, and it definitely lived up to the hype. From the summary it seems like it would be an amalgam of other media, but it was actually super original with tons of unique worldbuilding elements. It was so interesting to see a polyamorous relationship, one that was pretty healthy considering the trauma these people have gone through. The representation is amazing; the main character alone is bi, poly, and disabled. The plot moved pretty quickly, and the characters were so easy to root for. Is Zetian on track to becoming a war criminal? Yes. Do I love her? Yes. On top of that, that cliffhanger was insane; I’m on the edge of my seat for the next book!
