At first I thought I wasn't going to love this book. It felt a little too much like a teen Bly Manor fanfic. Maybe I've watched Bly Manor too many times, but it felt like reference after reference which left me worried that I couldn't separate the two stories in my head. But holy cow, I was wrong. This story is absolutely beautiful and unique and gruesome and I'm so glad to have read it. A great introduction to the horror genre for teens and adults alike!
